Graduate Student Opportunities

The CSL has provided research training to a number of students in the M.A. Human Factors and Ph.D. Applied-Experimental Psychology programs in the Department of Psychology at Catholic University. A few students enrolled in the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology and Developmental Psychology programs have also been appointed to research positions in the CSL.

Kevin Bennett and Paul Nestor were the first CSL graduates, obtaining the Ph.D. degree in 1984. Kevin Bennett who obtained his Ph.D. under the joint direction of Jim Howard and Raja Parasuraman, is Professor of Psychology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and has achieved prominence in the world of human factors.  Paul Nestor is now at the University of Massachusetts.  As established researchers in cognitive neuroscience and human factors, respectively, they exemplify the diversity of the CSL's interests.

A total of 16 persons have obtained their PhDs from the CSL to date. With one exception, all of these students were funded by research grants and contracts.

The following is a list of Ph.D. graduates from the Cognitive Science Lab, with entry date, graduation date, and current placement.
